Nixxit, based out of Castro Valley, CA and Oakland, CA is a small locally owned and operated full- service junk removal company that serves the entire Bay Area.

Yes, we are local. No, we are not franchised – and we take pride in this. It takes grit to build a business completely from the ground up.

Here’s Our Story

Our team is backed by more than 10+ years of professional experience working previously for the largest junk removal company in the world.

This has taught us that while small businesses and large businesses might operate in the same market, they have significant differences that can have a large effect on business operations.

Many large junk removal franchises just see the communities they serve as territories.

As a small business that’s rooted in Alameda County and Contra Costa County, Nixxit truly cares about making a difference where we grew up, live, and work.

The owner of Nixxit, Sarah, grew up in Dublin and has been rooted in the Bay Area her entire life.

The two other hard-working faces of Nixxit are Bryce and David. Bryce grew up in Castro Valley and David grew up in Fremont.

Sarah previously owned another small business while in College. Right out of College, she decided to enter into the Corporate world, working in Marketing.

Bryce and David both previously worked for the largest blue franchised junk removal company in the world for many years.

One day the three came together and decided that they were all simply tired of working for large bureaucratic companies and noticed all the things we could do better.

Sarah spent over a year developing Nixxit’s business plan, brand identity, and operations before hitting the ground running. She now oversees all of the back-end of Nixxit, where Bryce and David oversee everything out in the field.

And so the story goes of how Nixxit was started.

Green Initiatives

Nixxit is one of only a few Certified Bay Area Green Businesses in our industry.

We are committed to sustainable disposal, which means keeping as much as we can out of the landfill, donating whenever possible, and recycling up to 80% of what we haul away.

Our green initiatives also extend into our everyday operations outside of the field. Learn more about Nixxit’s Environmental Commitment.

Sarah McCorriston

Owner/Founder

Sarah McCorriston

Sarah is the founder of Nixxit and the glue that keeps everything running smoothly with over 6+ years in the junk removal industry.

While she spends most of her time behind the scenes managing operations, brand, and customer success, Sarah isn’t afraid to roll up her sleeves and jump into the field when the mood strikes.

A natural-born “do’er” with a passion for making things happen, Sarah’s entrepreneurial journey began in College at UC Davis, where she launched her first small business.

Before Nixxit, she sharpened her skills in the corporate world of marketing, bringing a fresh and dynamic perspective to every challenge.

Sarah is also a dedicated dog mom to Zero and Kokomo, Nixxit’s beloved office mascots. A strong advocate for animal rescue and adoption, Sarah spends her free time exploring the Bay Area’s trails with her furry sidekicks. With her diverse experience and unstoppable drive, Sarah ensures that Nixxit remains at the forefront of the junk removal game, one well-managed operation at a time.

Bryce Basozki

Team Lead/Field Operations

Bryce Basozki

Bryce Basozki oversees the companies field operations and is in the trenches daily building customer relationships and handling the heavy lifting. He carries over 15+ years of junk removal experience under his belt.

Prior to starting at Nixxit, he worked for the world’s largest junk removal company for over 7 years, where he was honored as the Truck Team Member of the year.

Bryce is well known for his shining personality and his unique ability to connect with everyone he meets. Bryce is not only your go-to mustache man, but he also knows the ins and outs of the industry and truly loves what he does.

David Alvernaz

Team Lead/Field and Fleet Manager

David Alvernaz

Most people probably look at David’s peppered beard, and professional manner and assume he only means business – but he’s got an arsenal of one liners up his sleeve. He has been in the junk removal industry now for 10 years.

He primarily works out in the field, keeping things on track and customers smiling.

Prior to starting at Nixxit, David worked as the Senior Operations Manager for a global hauling company for over 3 years.

He has a proven track record of building and managing strong teams dedicated to client relationships and delivering immediate and sustainable value – while keeping things light and fun.

Tyler Rizzari Headshot

Truck Team Member

Tyler R.

Tyler carries nearly a decade’s worth of experience working in the trades as a skilled craftsman.

Outside of Nixxit, Tyler is a very hands-on kind of guy and enjoys working outdoors and in the field, where he is also apart of the Glazers and Glassworkers Union.

Tyler enjoys the excitement of doing something new every day when working at Nixxit.

He is constantly wanting to learn and enjoys the changing challenges the junk industry provides.

Dima K Headshot Nixxit

Truck Team Member

Dima K.

Dima is Nixxit’s junk removal extraordinaire with a passion for cars and a knack for turning chaos into order!

A Castro Valley native, Dima’s roots are as firmly planted as his expertise in junk removal. With a background in the car industry, Dima’s knowledge of vehicles rivals that of any seasoned mechanic.

Whether you’re curious about the latest models or classic collectors, Dima’s your go-to guy! When he’s not decluttering spaces at work, you’ll find Dima unwinding in the digital realm, mastering video games. And after a long day of, Dima enjoys nothing more than soaking away the stress in a bubbling hot tub.

Martin Fergoso Headshot Cropped

Truck Team Member

Martin F.

Martin might come off a little quiet at first, but don’t let that fool you, he’s got over 5 years of junk removal know-how and can outwork just about anyone.

He’s polite, down to earth, and the kind of guy who always says thank you after moving a sleeper sofa up three flights of stairs.

When he’s not hauling junk, he’s either catching a football game. Reliable, humble, and lowkey hilarious once you get to know him, Martin’s the real deal.

Diaz Lucas

Truck Team Member

Lucas D.

If you’ve ever seen a fridge disappear in 30 seconds flat, chances are Lucas was behind it.

Always in a good mood and moving at lightning speed, Lucas brings serious muscle and hustle to the Nixxit crew.

After nearly 15 years in the grocery world, he’s got customer service down to a science and trust us, navigating tight storage rooms prepped him well for hauling junk out of packed garages.

When he’s off the clock, you’ll find him camping, hiking, or hangings out with his kids and dogs (which honestly sounds harder than lifting couches all day). If there’s a job to do, Lucas is already halfway done with it and probably smiling the whole time.

Christopher S with Nixxit

Truck Team Member

Christopher S.

Christopher has a decade of expertise in the junk removal industry under his belt and a knack for turning trash into treasure.

With another 14 years spent working at a local salvage yard, Christopher’s eye for assessing, approving, and appraising salvageable goods is second to none, ensuring that nothing goes to waste on his watch.

But that’s not all – when he’s not decluttering spaces or salvaging treasures, Christopher doubles as a recording studio mogul, co-owning a recording studio.

From junk to jams, Christopher’s diverse skill set knows no bounds. And when he’s not making moves in the junk removal world or laying down tracks in the studio, you’ll likely find him pumping iron and breaking a sweat at the gym.

Erik M

Truck Team Member

Erik M.

Erik’s the guy who shows up with a big smile, a good joke, and enough strength to lift just about anything in your garage. He’s always in a great mood, unless you change the Country station, then we can’t make any promises.

When he’s not out on the truck, he’s hanging with his son or playing soccer – he played semi-pro at one point! Oh, and he’s bilingual, so he’s got twice the jokes, too.

Zero Headshot

Director of Happiness

Zero

Zero is a 5-year old recruit/rescue from the Oakland Animal Shelter.

Prior to Nixxit, Zero was living on the streets of Oakland, CA. While he may have had a rough start to life, he is as happy-go lucky as they come and a proven gentle leader.

His duties include garbage investigating, ensuring treat time is administered timely and fairly, and parlaying displays of affection into belly rubs.

If you call Nixxit, you can almost certainly guarantee he is sitting at the feet of your Nixxit representative or sleeping somewhere under the desk.

When not supervising the office, Zero enjoys playing with other dogs and scouting for sticks of all sizes.

Kokomo Cropped

Junior Director of Happiness

Kokomo

Kokomo (like the Beach Boy’s song) is the newest member of the Nixxit team, hired Summer of 2023.

She is a 5-year old recruit/rescue from the Contra Costa Animal Shelter.

Prior to Nixxit, we don’t know much about her former life, but she has so far proven herself to be extremely intelligent.

So far, Kokomo has demonstrated a complete dedication to snoozing. She also provides vital guard dog services, where she currently holds a squirrel invasion rating of 0%.

Her new position at Nixxit will allow her to utilize  her loyalty, goofiness, and her stunning good looks. When not supervising the office, you will find her playing with her brother, Zero or taking a midday siesta.
